Following is some information about the "politics" of health care, and some of the factors that seem to have affected healthcare progress.

 

1. Divided Legacy series: By historian Harris Coulter.  This describes with careful academic rigor what I categorize as the philosophical and social divergence of the field of medicine and health care into two deeply entrenched camps of approaching life and health.

2. Dr. Mercola posts Oliver Clerc's view of Modern Medicine as the New World Religion.

 

3. Life Extension magazine (announcing free book-length download of statistics on Death by Medicine):

   >> Expose' of  FDA restricting health technologies: titled "FDA's Lethal Impediment."

 

4. Government is rewriting science to fits its partisan goals, say Nobel scientists and many others.

 

5. Industry and healthcare organizations fight against MCS patients quite often in our country when it comes to illness resulting from exposure to chemicals and pesticides. This is highlighted in this article of a successful development in Canada to protect people from industry.

 

6. The Corporation as Psychopath: An analytical look at this "living organism."

 

7. Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients: The Examiner of Medical Alternatives. This is an excellent periodical that gives access to information that is otherwise inaccessible to most people.

 

8. Racketeering in Medicine. The restriction of free trade at the hands of pharmaceutical corporations is discussed in this book. There is also the concern about "trade guild" restraint of competition when you see the headquarters of private groups --  representing professionals such as the "American Medical Association" and "American Dental Association" -- in their attacks against approaches that are not under their control.

 

9. Quackpotwatch.org.  When you use Google.com to search information on a health subject, you will likely find citations of opinion from "quackwatch", and "quackbusters." Mr. Tim Bolen has disclosed their recent alliance with the pharmaceutical corporations to fight any health assistance that is not drug-based. See also his The Bolen Report.

I know many medical doctors and dentists, and their intent is honorable. I believe that science and humanism/spirituality properly applied will give us what we need to thrive and meet humanity's great potential.

If we do not, humankind is doomed to slavery to corporate machines (my wording here). Another view from outside the U.S.A.: U.S. citizen living in Brazil, watching the decline of healthcare: Mark Sircus founder International Medical Veritas Association. His writing is often heartbreaking, because he sees the destruction due to mercury and Big Pharma control of healthcare worldwide.
