Letter to Townsend Letter, submitted March 1997 but rejected as too strident against the NCAHF. Since that time, I have often seen their handiwork on the internet and elsewhere. Shockingly, I watched them on September 11, 2001, past midnight into the day of "the other terrorist action". They were testifying before a Congressional hearing, televised on CSPAN-2, claiming that the cost of health care to the elderly who want to use alternative medicine was unjustified and "unscientific". I am not the only one who considers these "crusaders" to be terrorists deserving of investigation and treatment in the same manner as the Taliban have called down upon themselves for the abomination they represent. I remain convinced that the actions of the NCAHF have caused the deaths of many, many people who were denied effective care that was of a kind that threatened their limited, often fundamentalist religion-based, view.
