Understanding the Body as a Community or "Kingdom"
This page is intended to develop the important knowledge you should have that your body is not an isolated unit fighting against the forces of the world around you.
To begin with, we have acidophilus organisms living inside our digestive tract. We also have a variety of other microbes within us.
We need to conduct our lives as if we are a community of organisms. We need to do what is necessary to reduce the numbers of unfriendly organisms and increase those that are beneficial.
We also, in this model, need to conduct the business of the kingdom or sovereign nation and manage the traffic inward and the traffic outward. Good food, water, air, and other inputs are important. And, we need to take care of the waste products each cell and organ creates, and eliminate it efficiently without harming other parts of our body while doing it. [For instance, if we have a treatment that causes cells to release heavy metals, then we need to make sure that the liver, kidney, skin and lungs are able to effectively do whatever is their part in this process. Wrongly done, any treatment could actually end up stressing organs and the person could get worse rather than better. See Why Some Treatments Make You Worse.]
In this model, you are the Mayor or the King, and are in charge of what happens in your domain. It is up to you to organize the inputs and outflow through your borders. Practitioners and treatments are under your management.
You can think more about this model and what it means for your life and health.
